Civic labs and participationParticipatory urbanism2013

A university centre set up in 2013 for the urban regeneration of Bangkok, working with data, design and processes with residents. Its projects include GoodWalk, a walkability index with neighbourhood pilots, the Chao Phraya Sky Park on an abandoned viaduct, the Yannawa riverfront and the Bangkok 250 project. It matters because it put the neighbourhood scale on the city agenda. Tension: it also plans the university's own land (the CU2040 plan), linked to the contested transformation of Samyan.
