Civic labs and participation2018 (en Bangkok, 2022)

A public platform for reporting urban problems (potholes, rubbish, street lights, flooding) through LINE, the messaging app almost the whole country uses. Each report reaches the responsible office with a photo and location, and the sender can follow its progress. NECTEC built it and Bangkok adopted it on 31 May 2022; hundreds of local governments use it. It has cut response times sharply. Tensions: it leaves out people without a phone or connection and reduces participation to complaints.
