iLaw, Internet Dialogue on Law Reform ไอลอว์
Bangkok (Chatuchak) · Nationwide · Thailand
An organisation founded in 2009 to open the legislative process to citizens. It promotes citizen-initiated bills and constitutional reform petitions, documents freedom of expression cases and protests, and in 2023 coordinated, through Vote62, citizen monitoring of the vote count at more than 30,000 polling stations. It is a case of collective intelligence applied to watching power. It works under heavy political pressure, in a country where criticising the monarchy is punished with prison.
