Muslim fishing village in north-east Phuket, among mangroves and plantations, that has run its own community tourism since 2001. The group, led by women and registered as a community enterprise, offers mangrove, cooking and farming tours, and according to the Responsible Thailand awards reinvests 10% of profits in village education, health and environment. On the country's most touristed island it is a counterpoint, but it is worth checking it does not shrink to selling experiences: independent sources on its governance are missing.
