Some 63 rai of degraded forest and canals that Song Khanong residents cleaned up and replanted with local species, on public land and under the supervision of the Royal Forest Department. It now works as an outdoor classroom and a pantry of plants for traditional cooking. It lies in Bang Kachao, the green river bend facing Bangkok, where property pressure often gets round the protection rules. Note: the main source is a website of the oil company PTTEP, a sponsor of conservation in the area.
