Talat Khua Din ຕະຫຼາດຂົວດິນ
Vientiane (Sisattanak) · Vientiane · Laos
A wholesale and fresh produce market next to the morning market, opening before dawn with an almost entirely local clientele. In 2020 its coordination committee applied what it presented as the first plastic bag ban in a Lao market. In April 2023 it closed for a private redevelopment ahead of the ASEAN summit: according to the management, vendors agreed to leave; they complained that nobody found them a place. Since then there has been no news of its reopening, planned for 2024.
