Talat Dao Heuang ຕະຫຼາດດາວເຮືອງ
Pakse · South · Laos
The largest market in southern Laos, next to the Lao-Japanese bridge in Pakse, with fresh produce, river fish, food, textiles and household goods from vendors across the province and Vietnamese traders. Shared pick-up trucks leave from here for Champasak, Don Daeng and the Thai border at Vang Tao: it is social infrastructure where peasant economy, cross-border trade and popular transport meet. A commercial services company runs it, and it is unclear whether it is public, mixed or part of a large private group.
