Third place2010

A riverside park opened in 2010 on land reclaimed from the Mekong, under a South Korean-funded project whose second phase ended in 2026. At dusk it is the city's great living room: strolling, jogging, group aerobics and a night market reorganised in 2023 ahead of the ASEAN summit. What was lost is less documented: according to the state agency, this bank had dry-season gardens and family stalls, and the second phase includes resettlement plans.
