Nápoles · Campania · Italy

Civic foodCommons and belongingParticipatory urbanism2012

A former garden of an abandoned convent in the Materdei district, reclaimed around 2012 by residents and collectives who turned it into a vegetable garden and meeting space. On 1 June 2016 the Naples city council formally recognised it as a bene comune of uso civico e collettivo, within the same legal framework as the Asilo Filangieri. It operates as a self-managed shared garden, with workshops, an organic vegetable garden and activities open to the neighbourhood.
