A small mountain municipality in the Alto Molise that in the early 2000s launched, under mayor Lino Gentile, a regeneration model based on a combination of public and private investment and cooperation with the owners of abandoned land. It converted former hay barns into the albergo diffuso Borgotufi and reclaimed forty hectares for the organic cultivation of heirloom apples through the cooperativa di comunità Melise. In 2025 the municipality signed a new patto di comunità to extend the process for two more years.
