CAOS, Centro Arti Opificio Siri CAOS - Centro per le Arti Opificio Siri
Terni · Umbria · Italy
The former Siri chemical factory in Terni, acquired by the city council between 1997 and 2002 and converted since 2009 into a 5,600-square-metre contemporary art centre beside the Nera river. It houses the Aurelio De Felice museum of modern and contemporary art, the Sergio Secci theatre, educational workshops and artist residencies. It is an institutional example, without a structured participatory process, of converting industrial heritage into public cultural infrastructure.
