Reuse of vacancyCommons and belongingCivic labs and participation2014
A 1914 signage factory in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, opened in 2014 as a creative and productive hub with coworking, a makerspace and a professional kitchen; in 2017 it co-founded Fab City Grand Paris. The CitéCoop cooperative now runs it as a space for grassroots ecology: a dozen resident organisations, a shared kitchen for responsible caterers and, in the courtyard, Le Baranoux, an associative bar and climate emergency centre. In 2026 the building owner wants the bar out to make offices, and the dispute remains open.
