Villages Vivants
Crest · Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes · France
A cooperative of collective interest founded in 2018 in Crest to buy and refurbish empty commercial premises in villages and small-town centres, then lease them to social economy projects. It combines citizen savings, businesses and town councils as members. In seven years it has enabled thirty-five shops to reopen with twelve million euros invested, and continues expanding its reach across south-eastern France.
