Le Lieu Unique
Nantes · Pays de la Loire · France
A former LU biscuit factory, with its 1909 art nouveau towers, first occupied by a cultural squat from the late 1980s and converted in 1999 into a national multidisciplinary venue. It mixes theatre, dance, music, visual arts, a restaurant and a bookshop in an industrial building preserved as a symbol of the city. It was one of the projects that drove the Nantes model of culture as an engine of urban regeneration.
