A former 900 m² port hangar in the l'Eure district of Le Havre, winner in 2016 of the public competition Réinventer la Seine and converted by the cooperative Hangar Zéro into a laboratory for ecological transition. The refurbishment, using containers and reused materials, included participatory building work with residents, and it now combines a bar, a shared shop, workshops and more than 1,300 m² of permaculture gardens. Its cooperative governance, with residents, associations, businesses and the administration on the same board, is unusual in France.
