La Louve
París · Île-de-France · France
Paris's first cooperative and participatory supermarket, opened in 2016 in the 18th arrondissement, inspired by the Park Slope Food Coop in New York. Each member pays a fee, takes part in governance and works around three hours a month in the shop in exchange for lower prices. The model shows that collective ownership of food retail is viable in a large city, although the time commitment required limits who can really take part.
