A former electrical workshop of the Société Métallurgique de Normandie, in the defunct steelworks complex of Colombelles, near Caen. Reopened in 2019 as a third place run by the association Le Wip, with coworking space, a bar, a stage and cultural programming, and a pioneering use of materials salvaged from the industrial demolition itself. It is an example of how a large, vanished working-class infrastructure becomes civic infrastructure, although its scale depends heavily on public backing from the Caen conurbation.
