Reuse of vacancyCommons and belongingCivic food2011

A former 19th-century military barracks, handed over in 2008 and transformed since 2011 into an ecological transition ecosystem with coworking space, a social enterprise incubator, an organic restaurant and shop, a skatepark and urban gardens. It receives more than a thousand people a day. It is one of the most cited friche conversion projects in France, although it has also been criticised for contributing to the gentrification of the Bastide neighbourhood.
