Sixteenth edition, 21 June to 4 October 2026 in twelve post-war churches in Duisburg, Essen, Gelsenkirchen and Bochum, in the Ruhr, around the question of what to do with buildings that have lost their religious function. The Manifesta 16+ programme took projects by local artists and initiatives to ten cities in the region, alongside a communities, education and mediation programme.
