A contemporary art centre created in 2010 by notary Andrea Bartoli and lawyer Florinda Saieva in the historic centre of Favara, five months after the collapse of an abandoned building killed two girls and exposed the neglect of the old town. They bought and refurbished the so-called Sette Cortili, seven ruined courtyards, turning them into galleries, artist residencies and meeting spaces. The project has revived tourism and the local economy, although it began as a private initiative rather than a community process.
