Génova · Liguria · Italy

Commons and belongingCivic food1970

The priest Andrea Gallo founded this Christian base community in the port of Genoa in 1970 to take in people struggling with addiction, homeless people, migrants and asylum seekers. It is now a secular association that combines reception, culture and work, and runs the Ricibo project against food waste, which reaches more than 29,000 families a year. It is one of the historic reference points of progressive Catholic social activism in Italy.
