Art and territoryCivic design collectivesReuse of vacancy1998
The artist Michelangelo Pistoletto founded Cittadellarte in 1998 in the former Lanificio Trombetta in Biella, a refurbished textile factory, to position art as an engine of social transformation through his Terzo Paradiso theory. It houses exhibitions, workshops, coworking space, a secular meditation space and social responsibility programmes with businesses and schools. It is a European reference for industrial regeneration through art and territory.
