A former building of the DMC textile manufacturer in Mulhouse, occupied since 2013 by a collective of artists that today has around 140 resident studios. The first organisation went bankrupt in 2016, and the Mulhouse conurbation, which owns the land, entrusted its relaunch to a management body that subsidises low-cost studios by renting the halls out for events. It is an example of how the survival of a cultural friche often depends on a mixed economic model, not on artistic will alone.
