Mains d'Œuvres
Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine · Île-de-France · France
A former social and sports centre of the Valeo factories, handed over in 1997 by the communist Saint-Ouen council to the association of Fazette Bordage and Christophe Pasquet, and opened to the public in 2001. It is an artistic and civic laboratory with residencies, concerts and neighbourhood projects. In 2019 a change of municipal government tried to reclaim the building and evicted the collective, which returned months later following a court ruling, an example of how fragile these spaces are in the face of political change.
