The main global conference on sustainable urbanisation, convened by UN-Habitat every two years together with the host government. The Baku edition (May 2026) gathered over 57,000 participants from 176 countries and adopted the Baku Call to Action on housing. It is a non-binding, massive and highly institutional forum where community voices compete with states and big players; its value for practitioners lies in side events and networking. The next edition (WUF14) will be held in Mexico in 2028.
