International Permaculture Convergence (IPC)

Rural life and depopulationNetwork meetingInternational

World gathering of the permaculture movement, itinerant since 1984 (Australia) and held every two or three years: Nepal, Cuba, the UK, India, Argentina and Taiwan have hosted it. It usually pairs an open conference with a multi-day convergence where practitioners run workshops and skill-shares. An international volunteer council provides continuity and picks the next host, aiming to rotate between regions. Tension: travel and registration costs weigh heavily on practitioners from low-income countries, although some editions offer reduced rates.
