EESC Civil Society Week

Brussels, Belgium

Democratic innovationConferenceEuropean

Annual week of the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels. Since 2024 it gathers events that used to run separately: the Civil Society Days, the European Citizens' Initiative Day (ECI Day, fourteenth edition in 2026), the Civil Society Prize and a youth programme. It draws NGOs, activists, national economic and social councils and EU staff. ECI Day is the most useful part for people promoting citizens' initiatives. Tension: it is an EU advisory body, and Brussels-based organised civil society weighs more than grassroots groups.
