Code for Japan Summit

Japan

Civic tech and digital democracyDemocratic innovationSummitNational

Annual gathering of Japan's civic tech community since 2014, convened by Code for Japan and open to officials, residents, developers and researchers (around 300 people). Each edition sets a theme; in 2026 it is the public sector and artificial intelligence. It is the best entry point to the local Code for brigades and to the relationship between municipalities and civic technology. Tension: growing closeness to the government's digitalisation agenda.
