Annual summit of the state programme 地域おこし協力隊, which sends young urbanites to work for one to three years in depopulated municipalities. It brings together current and former members and local governments, with talks, case studies and regional booths; free and open to anyone considering joining. Ninth edition in 2026. It is the entry point to Japan's largest 'relational population' scheme. Tension: a top-down programme with high turnover among participants.
