The 26th conference of the International Observatory on Participatory Democracy will take place in Niterói, in the Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area, in May 2027, after Kraków; the host city takes on the annual OIDP presidency. Local press links it to a UCLG executive meeting in the same city and to the motto 'Networked democracy: digital innovation for citizen participation and better public services'. Like previous editions, it is mainly a meeting of local governments. Exact dates and venue to be announced.
